Final Camdyn Book?

Cover For No Reason Kindle

Today is the official release day of For No Reason, the fourth and final volume of The Camdyn Series. Ending the story was pretty bittersweet for me, and according to my early reviewers, I think it’s safe to say they felt the same way.

Why does it have to end??? Can’t we get just one more book in the series? PLEASE!!!! – Tamra

…it was so hard to start this book knowing that it is the last in the series. I didn’t want to say goodbye to these “friends.” – Heidi

I said it before, but it’s worth saying again: I hate, hate, hate to say goodbye to these people. – Susan

When I finished writing The Camdyn Series, I honestly had no expectations for Camdyn and Cole into the future. I figured I would think about them sometimes and wonder what they were doing, but I didn’t expect you all to do the same. Well, now that I’m a bit removed from their story, I have to be completely honest with you:

I can’t let them go. When you’re writing a novel, you spend a lot of time imagining yourself inside the heads of the characters, picturing things through their eyes. Perhaps because The Camdyn Series is written in the first person, or perhaps because it was a continual story about the same cast of characters, they actually feel like my friends, too.

In a way, I am Camdyn Taylor. No, I’m not a moderately famous klutz who has been proposed to a zillion times, but I’ve spent an entire year looking at the world through her eyes. I want to believe that she’s still out there somewhere, and maybe one day I’ll run into her and be shocked that she’s real. I want to know what she’s writing next, and that she’s happy, and that she’s still progressing into figuring out this thing called life.

So, for all of you who are in love with Camdyn and Cole, rest assured that I can’t say goodbye to them, either. Who knows what we’ll see from them in the future? Maybe some new adventures… Maybe we’ll see what Camdyn’s writing… Maybe you’ll even be surprised when they show up in someone else’s story.

To every one of you who loves The Camdyn Series – thank you from the bottom of my heart. Fulfilling this dream has touched me in ways I never expected, taught me lessons about myself, and reminded me of what is truly important. Camdyn’s story has been a blessing to me, and I’m so glad we have shared in this journey.

  1. Oh my gosh, I’m so excited to learn that this may not be the end! First of all, I must say that I can’t believe you wrote these 4 amazing books in just one year….you are so talented! Second, my 8 year old was sitting next to me and asked if one of those quotes was mine. He thought that was so cool and so did I. 🙂

  2. I hate when series ends. You really do become good friends with each character. I hope you will continue to either write about Camdyn or start a new series with one of her friends and include her in the story.

  3. There is hope for more. I have liked your author page. I would love to win an autographed copy of the first book in the series for my library.

  4. .Happy release day,Christina. I look forward to Camdyn having a voice again.

  6. I’ve just read this series while recuperating from surgery, and loved them all. The final book really touched my heart as I lost my first child years ago to a miscarriage. And just two weeks ago, my daughter in law and son lost their first child. I totally related to how Camyden described how it felt to go through this when the child isn’t even recognized as relevant by others and how well meaning people say things that hurt deeply. I really felt comforted as I read. Thank you for your wonderful books, please keep them coming.

    1. Thank you for your kind words! It’s humbling for me to know that God used one of the most difficult moments of my life to bring comfort and hope to others. Praying that your daughter in law and son find comfort in this difficult time too.
